Israel Reaffirms Strong Ties with India
Israel on Tuesday (November 25) firmly rejected media reports suggesting that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu had postponed his upcoming visit to India over security concerns. Clarifying the speculation, Israeli authorities stated that Netanyahu continues to hold “full confidence” in India’s security capabilities and that both countries are now working together to identify fresh dates for the visit.
Israel Reaffirms Strong Ties With India
In an official statement shared on social media, the Israeli Prime Minister’s Office underscored the strength of the bilateral relationship.
“Israel's bond with India, and between Prime Minister Netanyahu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi, is very strong,” the statement read. It further added that the Israeli leader places complete trust in India’s security environment under Modi’s leadership. Officials from both nations have already begun consultations to finalise a new schedule for the trip.
Reports of Postponement Deemed ‘Speculative’
Some Israeli media outlets had earlier reported that Netanyahu’s visit—expected in December and set to be his first official trip to New Delhi since 2018—was pushed back due to security concerns following a terror attack in Delhi earlier this month.
However, sources familiar with the matter told PTI that such claims were “speculative” and “misleading.” According to them, the adjustment in dates is part of ongoing discussions aimed at identifying mutually convenient timings, rather than a response to any specific security incident.
